Spectacle of Steam (Charitable Fundraising Event)

Back for 2025 is Spectacle Steam on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th March

We return and bring a spectacle of steam like no other!

See more working steam locomotives in one hour than anywhere else in the UK and if not the world! With a huge variety of rare, unique and historic locomotives on show from various manufacturers from around the world.

Statfold’s unique site is a steam enthusiast’s dream, with full lineside access within 30 minutes walking distance from the main station. As well as this our unique railway features: -

  • The only narrow-gauge Roundhouse in the UK
  • Double track mainline where you can experience parallel running and trains passing each other.
  • Two different gauges of railway.
  • Dedicated photography at various points of the railway.
  • Fierce gradients and tight corners.
  • Coaches with balcony ends so you can immerse yourself in steam.
  • Freight trains throughout the day.
  • Locomotive changes throughout the day.

The day will also feature the Mease Valley Light Railway, the newest 12 ¼ gauge railway in existence.

Our friends at Transport Museum Wythall will be providing a shuttle bus service from Tamworth Town Centre and Tamworth Railway Station.
